Go on a Fantasy Adventure with The Sandman Comic Series and COM Library!

If you love fantasy graphic novels, but have never read the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, you are missing a fascinating tale of epic proportions!  With even more eye popping. gloriously colored illustrations, the 30th Anniversary collection is stunning and shouldn't be missed.

Weaving together ancient mythology, folklore, and fairy tales with his own distinct narrative vision, Gaiman creates an unforgettable tale of the forces that exist beyond life and death. The series follows Dream, also known as Morpheus, lord of the Dreaming.  The Dreaming is a vast, hallucinatory landscape that houses all the dreams of any and everyone who has ever existed including Gods, demons, mortals, and everything in between. All dreamers visit the Dreaming and have an opportunity to teach Morpheus some surprising lessons.  The story starts with a plan gone wrong when Dream's older sister tries to capture Death to make a deal for eternal life, entrapping her younger brother in the process.  After being captive for 70 years, Morpheus will have to go on a journey to reclaim his objects of power and bring order to the Dreaming.  Along the way, he encounters such characters as Lucifer, John Constantine and an all-powerful madman.

Texas Wildflowers

This time of year wildflowers are everywhere. Of course Texas is most famous for its bluebonnets, but there are lots of varieties of wildflowers out there. Most people know that Ladybird Johnson was responsible for the Texas Wildflower Program, but not everyone knows that it continues to this day. TxDOT continues to sow wildflower seeds everywhere, beautifying the highways of Texas. Mowing is only done during this time when necessary for public safety. Great for the environment and great for the scenery! Get more information on the program , or check out the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center . To find them and see for yourself, get sighting info from Wild About Texas  Wildflower: Sightings . See some great Texas wildflower pix at Flickr .
