COM Library granted $10,000 for eBook Project!

COM Library was successful in securing a grant for eBooks in the amount of $10,000, the maximum possible for this grant! This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (2014) and we are grateful for their generosity! Our library received the highest score of all the libraries applying for the grant. What impressed Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLA) the most about our plan?  -They liked that we are choosing the specific eBooks that best support the mission of the College, rather than buying a preconfigured vendor package as most libraries are; we are using data from our Distance Ed classes which have a greater need for eBooks, as well as our own circulation statistics to determine what the best subjects to cover are with these eBooks.  -They like that we are embedding the new eBooks into our very popular LibGuides to provide easy access to our students and pr
