EBSCO v. Google

Ever wondered what would happen if you could combine the top quality content of scholarly and peer reviewed journals like those in EBSCO with the ease of use of Google? You won’t have to wonder for long, because EBSCO has purchased the rights to use the peerless Google algorithm that we all love. In EBSCO 2.0 searches will be easier and more intuitive. And that’s not all. This is just one of the many changes coming our way in mid-July when EBSCO launches EBSCO 2.0. These changes will increase ease of use, accessibility and functionality, making excellent use of web technologies such as the Google algorithm and Web 2.0. CINAHL & EBSCO Clinical Queries

You’ll be happy to learn that in response to customer feedback, and through collaboration with McMaster University, the EBSCOhost versions of CINAHL, CINAHL Plus, CINAHL with Full Text and CINAHL Plus with Full Text now offer the ability to employ Clinical Queries as part of any search. Clinical Queries, designed for clinician use, allow users to limit searches with specific search strategies, to aid in retrieving scientifically sound and clinically relevant study reports indexed in CINAHL databases. Searches can be refined using specific search strategies designed to produce results in five research areas: Therapy - High Sensitivity Prognosis Review Qualitative Causation (Etiology) As research may require different emphasis, three strategies are provided for each area: High Sensitivity is the broadest search, to include ALL relevant material.
